Dear Vivian (it's a male! I thought "Vivian" was a women's name!), I'm glad we managed to understand one another by phone. Even if my english really has to be improved! I think that two weeks would be enought to understand conversations. I will be coming in Ireland during the first week of June. I will phone you when I'm here. Before travelling over there, I would like to get further informations about working in Ireland. First, I guess that I have to join the Irish Veterinary Council? Secondly, do I have to extend my french insurance, or is it better if I take one directly in Ireland? Finally, how is it payed? Is it a fix-salary as in France, or shared-fees? Currently working as a vet in France, at the private veterinary clinic of Chavanges, until the 31st of May, I am really interested in travelling to Ireland and to work over there.

Indeed, I would like to improve my knowledge in veterinary medicine. I am both very interested in horses, cattle and small animals. That is why I have worked, since I finished my studies, both in equine and in mixed practice.

With this purpose in mind, and my taste for travelling and discovering new countries, my choice came up for Ireland. I have already never been to, by I have only heard good about your country. My sister also works there and it seems to be really beautiful, with kind people, and a lot of large animals. That’s why I have chosen Ireland to go on.

I read your ad on the web site of the Irish Veterinary Journal and I saw that you are willing to find a vet to work with.

Could you please send me, by mail or by email, the possibilities to work with you?

My goal is also to improve my English by living in an English-speaking country. Not the language to be a problem, I could spend one month following you in your work, so that I would be sure to understand everything.

Ca commence par quelques mails à des véto irlandais. J'en ai appelé un hier, c'était un peu laborieux niveau anglais mais il m'a dit : "tu parles tjs mieux anglais que je ne parle français !" ! On en a conclu que qd je serais en Irlande, je l'appelle pour qu'on prenne RDV. On verra bien ce que ça donne.

En plus, je n'ai que ça à faire, car je suis en congé maladie, pour cause de ... VARICELLE ! (non mais t'y crois, la varicelle à 25 ans !!!)...
